Taking 'The Hunger Games' journey!

So, being an avid reader, everyone expects me to have already read The Hunger Games by Suzanna Collins.
But I haven't.
I've tried several times in the last year to get into the first book. And I couldn't. I believe that reason was because I thought it was terribly over-hyped. So I had such high expectations of it, so when the first half of the book turned out to be slow and confusing, I kept giving up.
Unfortunately, my teacher gave me a report to do, comparing the second book of the trilogy, Catching Fire, to its movie that is being released in a week.
Therefore, I am making myself read this series. Though, I just finished The Hunger Games yesterday and I am glad I finally got through it. It was quite good.
I am currently on Catching Fire and I am really enjoying it.
I will soon do a trilogy review.
