Book Resolutions updates:

Okay, so I had quite a  few book resolutions for this year. I'm not going to rewrite them on this post, so you could go look at the previous one if you're confused about some of the things on my list.
The book journey for far:
  • I've completed 2/10 series (four or more books). Now, this doesn't mean that I have to read the whole series this year, just have to finish it. So, if I started the books last year, and read the rest this year, it counts.
  • 2/15 trilogies done. Now, this is a very low number, but that's because most of the trilogies I'm planning on reading or finishing this year aren't out, or I plan to read over the summer and fall.
  • 1/5 classics.
  • I got new bookshelf, which was one of my biggest goals. Though, I'm already running out of room again, so I may need to buy more.
  • Still haven't read any sci-fi books, but I have a few planned in the next couple of months.
  • I've read a few books on my NOOK, more than before, so that goal is going good.
  • I have NOT bought less books than I can read. In fact, I've bought about triple the amount I can read, so that goal is butchered.
  • I recommend books daily, either on Twitter or Goodreads or to people around me, so that is going great.
  • I haven't went to a book event yet, but there are a few planned in the summer that I'm definitely going to.
  • I haven't written anything down, keeping track on the books I read and things about them...So yeah, probably won't happen this year.
Alright, so I'm doing good on most of my goals. Slacking on others. But I'm good with what I've done! :D

Top Five Book Covers

So, I have been gone for months. But I am back now! Hopefully for good.
Here are my top favorite books covers:
1. Wither by Lauren DeStefano. I love this cover because the girl on the front is beautiful, as well as the colors that mingle together.
2. The Elite by Keira Cass. This book is just gorgeous. I love the color. I love the girl on the front. I love the dress. And I love the mirrors.
3. The Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith. I feel as this cover tells a story in itself, with the people in the background being shadows compared to the lovers in the middle.
4. How to Love by Katie Cotugno. I just love how simple, yet intriguing this cover is. I especially love the show of the shades of blue.
5. Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. I'm obsessed with eyes on the cover of books. But this one especially because it has different seasonal representations intertwined with it.
Okay, those are my top five favorite book covers! I promise to get on more from now on!

Top 5 Villains!

Okay, so almost all books has that one bad guy that you just love to hate. I'm going to be naming my top 5!
  1. Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter. Voldemort is just one of those guys that is literally pure evil. Like, you want to feel bad for him because he had a terrible childhood...but he is just so bad that you can't do that. You can only hate him.
  2. Valentine from The Mortal Instruments. This guy is a lying douche. Like, plain and simple. But that is what makes him a great villain. I feel as though he manipulated everyone just so he could be the most powerful. I just hated him.
  3. Jeanine Matthews from Divergent. She was the worst person, ever. I hated her from the moment I found out about her, and from then on, I pretty much despised her and planned her death in my head. She was horrible, and only thought about herself.
  4. Commander Jameson from Legend. This women is awful. She is a lying betrayer. Everything she did was for her own personal gain, and everything she did was just pure evil. It was like she felt no remorse for anything. So...I wanted to punch her through the whole trilogy.
  5. Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter. I just can't help but add Draco. Because, even though he did some terrible things, he did them to make his family, which was pretty evil, proud. And you could just tell he felt remorse, and he tried to make up for it towards the end. So, he was like a villain-gone-good.
There you are! My top favorite book villains!

My thoughts on:The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith

I'm in LOVE!
This book was glorious! I've never read anything quite like this book at all. I was going into this book with pretty high expectations, because one of my favorite authors loved it, and it completely met them!
The plot of this book was very simple, yet amazingly done. I was hooked from the very beginning. Every little scene was important, in its own way. Even though it was all really sweet, there was also a lot of deepness to it, because of the story it provides. Also, this book had perfect realistic properties. Like, this could just be something that happens to you or someone you know in the future. The whole book flowed together at a great pace. The uniqueness of the novel was so overwhelming, but in a good way. This book had everything a YA contemporary needs; romance, amazingly sweet characters, humor, happiness, sadness, and even a bit of surprise twists.
The characters were so...different, but awesome. Hadley, the main character, is so easy to connect with. I really felt her. She wasn't some perfect person. She had her faults, and she expressed them. But she was strong willed, and I really loved her humor and the way she reacts to people. I believe she is one of the best female leads for YA romance I've ever read about. Then, there was Oliver. First off...HE IS BRITISH. And that means perfection. He was so funny, yet he had a really closed-in side of him, which made you want to get to know him more. I really loved him, and I loved how real he was. The characters grew and matured a lot through the story, and I commend the author for that, because she did an excellent job with it.
So, I totally fell in love with this whole book. Every word was perfect, as well as the characters. I really recommend it to anyone who is in need of a quick, perfect romance read. Or, just to anyone who likes YA romance in general. I promise there will be no regret.

2014 Book Resolutions!

Hi, guys! It's finally 2014! How exciting. This is the year of the Vampire Academy, Maze Runner, and Divergent movies, which is exciting! Also, there are sooo many new releases, which I've already talked about in my last post.
So, it seems like it will be a good year for books and movie adaptions of books!
And since this year will be pretty good for books, I made a ten Bookish Resolutions.
They are:
  1. Read 156 books total.
  2. Read 15 trilogies total, 10 series(four or more books) total, and re-read 20 books.
  3. Read five classics.
  4. Buy new bookshelves! Mine are completely falling apart.
  5. Try some sci-fi books. I've never really read any.
  6. Read more books on my NOOK.
  7. Don't buy more books than I can read(because then books get pushed back and never read).
  8. Recommend more books to more people.
  9. Go to at least one book event.
  10. Write down every book-related thing in a journal (Books I read, my rating, a little quote or two. Those things.)
So, these are my top ten bookish goals. I have a few more, but these are the most important ones. I highly suggest everyone make some sort of book goal and try to stick to it.
